It says that my library card does not have an email attached to it so I cannot register for an account?

I am trying to renew books but it says that my library card is not in the system. I do hold a Chicago Public Library Card so I am not sure if that is why I am not allowed to register for an account and renew online.

I looked up your account and everything looks OK.  The procedure is to go to the library website,, click on Quick Links, click on Search catalog, Login is your library card number, password is the word PATRON, click on checkouts and you will see what you have checked out.  Click on the box next to the item, click on renew.  If you have many items to renew, they must be renewed 1 page at a time.
